He began a successful feature screenwriting career ("Indianapolis", "Queen of the Jews, aka Queen Bess", "The Last of Sheila") after moving to Los Angeles in 1991 and made his writing/directing feature debut with MGM and Jim Henson Pictures' 外星神犬 (2003).
