早年经历

演艺经历
1980年代末，开始频繁涉足影视作品，扮演的角色包括奥地利名导迈克尔·哈内克的《巴黎浮世绘》中的东欧女乞丐。2005年，参演罗马尼亚导演克利斯提·普优的电影《无医可靠》，她饰演仁心至善的女护士，一路陪同独居病老人寻求生的希望。
此后几年，盖奥尔吉乌出演多位罗马尼亚新浪潮导演的代表作，包括柯内流·波蓝波宇的《布加勒斯特东12点8分》、克里斯蒂安·蒙吉的《四月三周两天》和《山之外》、霍拉丘·默勒埃莱的《无声婚礼》、普优的《破晓时分》等。
2013年，盖奥尔吉乌在卡林·皮特·内策尔执导的《孩童姿势》中饰演一位溺爱儿子的强势母亲，为帮助儿子摆脱车祸肇事罪名，想尽一切办法。该片一举拿下柏林金熊奖，而卢米妮察·盖奥尔吉乌也凭借这次演出获得第26届欧洲电影奖最佳女主角提名。
个人生活
据澎湃新闻报道：当地时间2021年7月4日，卢米妮察·盖奥尔吉乌因罹患癌症去世，享年71岁。
