Josephine Crowell was a Canadian-born character actress. She appeared in vaudeville as early as 1879. On screen, she is best remembered for her dramatic portrayal of the mother in 大卫·格里菲斯's 一个国家的诞生 (1915), her comedic performances in 哈罗德·劳埃德's 飞毛腿 (1928) and 斯坦·劳莱 and 奥列佛·哈台's Wrong Again (1929).
