John McNulty was born in Singapore in 1975. He lived in such countries as France, Britain and Hong Kong before attaining a degree in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. There he made several short films with fellow filmmakers Russell Leven, Andrew Abbott and Andrew Begg now prominent British documentary makers.
