Born in Vienna/Austria. Studied art history and archaeology. Trained as an restorer of fine art. Studied film directing at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Film and Television, Vienna. Postgraduate studies at the New York University, Department of Film and Television . 2001-2008 lectures at the University of applied arts, Vienna. Member of the German film academy. Cooperation with Werner Herzog and Michael Haneke.
