Jack Davenport was born in 1973 and is the son of actors 玛丽亚·艾特肯 and 奈杰尔·达文波特. He studied Literature and Film Studies at the University of East Anglia. 演艺经历
约翰·克莱斯忙着自编自演《宠物凶猛》的时候，达文波特的母亲建议他写信给克莱斯，看有没有什么活计适合他的，结果是达文波特被安排扮演了一个小角色——动物守门人。在《宠物凶猛》还处于后期制作阶段的时候，达文波特便加入了当时一出知名的电视剧《ThisLife》的主演阵容，电视剧围绕五个住在一套公寓里的年轻律师展开故事，达文波特饰演了其中一个名叫【迈尔斯·斯图尔特】的律师，此电视剧在当时的收视率很高，杰克·达文波特因此迅速成名。
