个人简介

罗伊·韦伯，哥伦比亚大学(ColumbiaUniversity)接受过古典音乐的训练，20多岁时就在百老汇工作，不仅创作配乐，还与他的哥哥、导演肯尼斯·S·韦伯(KennethS.Webb)合作创作原创剧本。1923年，他在《音乐盒》和《踏脚石》等热门节目中担任指挥和编曲。两年后，他与同行马克斯·施泰纳(MaxSteiner)合作，建立了一段长久的友谊。韦伯曾为上百部电影谱写配乐，主要是与RKOPictures合作。他最擅长为黑色电影和恐怖片谱曲，尤其是ValLewton的电影，他的低调、出奇有效的恐怖主题为瓦尔·勒顿(ValLewton)的电影奠定了基调。在RKO倒闭后，韦伯在华纳、派拉蒙和约翰韦恩的Batjac制作公司工作。虽然他所有的手稿都在一场火灾中不幸丢失，但他在加州大学洛杉矶分校RKO保险库里的乐谱副本仍被保存了下来 。
