在近50年的电影艺术生涯中，他扮演了工人、小偷、无赖汉警察、小贩等小人物，坎丁弗拉斯已成为穷苦百姓的象征。他出色地把舞台形像移植到银幕上。他用跳跃式的、断断续续的、出人意外的话语及方言土语，使得观众捧腹大笑。
人物经历
坎丁弗拉斯，1911年8月12日出生于墨西哥城；早年在街头巡回剧团当演员，后进入剧院工作。由于在剧中扮演坎丁弗拉斯一角而出名，从影后遂用为艺名。
1931年开始从影，因在J.布斯蒂略·奥罗导演的《详情如此》中表演出色一举成名。又因在美国片《八十天环游地球》中的表演，成为著名影星。该片获奥斯卡最佳影片奖。
1981年，坎丁弗拉斯与导演M.M.德尔加多成立了坎丁弗拉斯影片公司。
1983年，美洲国家组织授予坎丁弗拉斯银质奖杯，以表彰他在艺术上取得的成就以及对和平、正义事业的贡献。
