马修·瑞斯

MatthewRhys出生于南威尔士的历史名城卡迪夫，并在那里长大。他从小就受威尔士语的教育，威尔士语是他的第一语言。17岁时，因在学校音乐剧Elvis中扮演主角，Rhys意识到他并不适合在农场或者在军队里工作，于是他申请入读位于伦敦的享有盛名的皇家戏剧艺术学院(RADA)。在被录取后不久，1993年，他被授予PatriciaRothermere奖学金。在皇家戏剧艺术学院的那段时间，Rhys在《Back-Up》(一部BBC的关于后备支援警力的警务剧)和《HouseofAmerica》中演出，然后他回到家乡Cardiff用母语在威尔士电影《BeBrave》中演出，为此，他赢得了英联邦威尔士电影和电视艺术奖中的最佳男演员奖。
