迈克尔·蒂尔森·托马斯（MichaelTilsonThomas,1944年-），美国人，管弦乐队指挥、钢琴家、作曲家。以指挥作品广泛、风格生动有力而闻名。托马斯生于洛杉矶，最初在家庭教师指导下学习音乐，后来就读于南加州大学。1969年他在波士顿交响乐团的一次音乐会上代替威廉·斯坦伯格演出，首次引起人们的注意。

托马斯早年指挥洛杉矶爱乐乐团专辑
1988年2月创建了新世界交响乐团，自任音乐总监兼指挥，乐团以美国为基地，在美国举行了一连串的慈善音乐会。1990年与伯恩斯坦在日本札幌创办了太平洋音乐节。1995年8月，指挥太平洋音乐节乐团首演他创作的《昭和》，纪念广岛原子弹爆炸50周年。
1971–79年，托马斯担任布法罗爱乐乐团音乐总监，同时于1971–76年兼任纽约爱乐乐团青年音乐会音乐总监。1981–85年担任洛杉矶爱乐乐团客座指挥，1988年成为伦敦交响乐团首席指挥。他协助创办了佛罗里达州迈阿密的“新世界交响乐团”——一个旨在培养青年演奏家的培训管弦乐团，并于1988年担任该团艺术总监。1995年他成为旧金山交响乐团音乐总监。
